Biography

Here's an insight about my life, hardships I have faced and the events that have led me to become a musician.

Childhood

I was born and brought up in he 'City Of Lakes', a small town in state of Madhya Pradesh (Central India). I have been a dreamer since my childhood. When kids aspired to be Doctors, Engineers, Astronauts, I have always aspired to be free and find my purpose here. So, naturally, you get that, mother nature was important to me than procuring good marks in high school.

I have been very physically active since my childhood. I play a lot of sports, in fact before music that's all II wanted to do. I have been a Gymnast, State Under 16 Lawn-Tennis Champion, Cricketer, Basketball, Football, this kind of prepared me for the disciplined life of a Musician. I am really thankful to my parents who gave me a such great life style, exposure and gave me space and time to find myself besides studies.

High School

In my high school curriculum we had STA also known as, 'Spare Time Activity', in which there was dance, music and acting. I have been a dance geek and enthusiastic dancer in both classical and western styles, but I wanted to try something new. So I decided to go with Music. Since, I have been close to dance and it involved music, also I never considered myself good looking so acting was out of question.

I went with the fad and chose guitars in my STA. After sucking and struggling at it for one whole year I was beginning to lose interest, until, one fine morning my Music Teacher, Mr. Mahesh Rao asked me to switch instruments with my class mates and try out their instruments so everyone has a decent idea about the science of other instruments. By the way my Music Teacher is a very humble down to Earth guy who always pushed me to be a better musician and told me told invest in my education because if I won't, nobody else will and besides what would you do anyway if not music. These words were something I very later on realised.

So, getting to the story it was my turn to play the drums, my teacher played once told everyone to replicate. I practiced once on my lap that too without the sticks and started playing along with my teacher and played some things that usually takes years of practice and understanding of rhythm and coordination to play. That moment I knew the Drums have chosen me. And, I think as far as I can recall everyone including the teacher and students along with me were silent and shocked for the rest of the class after that jam. I asked my teacher to let me change my instrument to drums in the next class because playing drums felt right to my heart and soul. That was pretty much it.

Career

There have been many ups and downs in my music career. I haven't been consistent in my practice because of board exams, college & health/injuries. But, I have always made up for it somehow. In 2011, I met with an accident and I broke an ankle and wrist of my leading limbs. I had to stop playing for 2 years. But that couldn't stop me from doing music. I started learning music production on my own, a month after my injury. It slowed things down for me, way down actually, but I kept patience and utilised that time to better my musical sense and understanding by working on other things till healed, like songwriting, music theory etc.

It has taken me years of hard work and patience to reach where I am right now mentally and physically, but, It's been worth it. It all made me adaptable and shaped me into a all rounded musician. NO COMPLAINTS!! I can have no complaints because I have had the luxury and privilege of so many things and comfort, while people still struggle for basic necessities in my country. Anyway, one problem at a time right!!
